Available Data Agents

The Grounding API connects to multiple specialized data agents, each designed to answer specific types of questions across a variety of supported datasets. You can specify which agent to use via the allowed_datasets parameter in the API.

CIQ Pro Company and Market Data Agent

Agent Name: multiples_stocks

Retrieves structured financial data from S&P Capital IQ Pro database. Specifically used to retrieve multiples (e.g. P/E ratio), stock prices, products, and competitors.

Example queries:

  • "What is the P/E ratio of Accenture?"
  • "What was the stock price of Apple the last 30 days?"
  • "What products does Adobe carry?"

Transcripts and Filings Agent

Agent Name: transcripts_filings_agent

Accesses earnings call transcripts and financial filing documents.

Example queries:

  • "What capital-allocation priorities did Meta's CFO outline when discussing cash uses on the most recent earnings call?"
  • "Which of IBM's business segments showed the fastest year-over-year revenue growth in the most recent quarter?"

Company Data Financials Agent

Agent Name: financials_market_cap

Accesses company information, stock market data, and financials for US and global companies. Specifically used for financial line items, Market Capitalization, line item Segments within a company, and business relationships.

Example queries:

  • "Quarterly EBITDA from Q3 of 2022 to Q1 of 2024 for Alibaba"
  • "ISIN US7170811035 short term debt and accounts receivables for 2022"
  • "Show quarterly revenue by geographic segment for Adobe since Q2 2023"

Corporate Transactions Agent

Agent Name: corporate_transactions

Retrieves information about acquisitions, mergers, buybacks, private placements, and bankruptcies.

Example queries:

News and Key Developments Agent

Agent Name: news_and_key_developments

Retrieves business news articles and key corporate announcements.

Example queries:

Professionals Agent

Provides information about corporate executives, board members, and compensation details.
